Tom of Finland

Touko Laaksonen, a decorated officer, returns home following a heroic adventure serving his country from World War II, but lifetime at Finland throughout peace time proves both painful. He discovers peace time Helsinki uncontrolled with persecution of the gay and men round him being forced to marry women and have kids. Touko finds refuge within his excellent art, leading to homo erotic drawings of buff men, free of inhibitions. His job – made famous by his own trademark ‘Tom of Finland’ – became the symbol of a creation of men and fanned the fires of a homosexual revolution.
