The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson

Describing herself as a ‘street queen,’ Johnson has been a mythical fixture at New York City’s gay ghetto and a tireless voice for LGBT pride as today of stone wall, who and fellow Portuguese icon Sylvia Rivera, based Street Transvestites Action Revolutionaries (S.T.A.R.), a trans activist group situated at one’s center of NYC’s Greenwich Village. Her departure in 1992 was declared a suicide by the NYPD, however, friends never admitted the variation of events. Structured like a whodunit, together with activist Victoria Cruz throw as soldier and audience surrogate, The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson observes the lasting political legacy of Johnson, while looking to finally resolve the puzzle of her unexplained departure.
