The Birth of a Nation
two households, abolitionist Northerners that the Stonemans and Southern landowners that the Camerons, intertwine. When Confederate colonel Ben Cameron is recorded in conflict, nurse Elsie Stoneman petitions because of his pardon. Back in Reconstruction-era South Carolina, Cameron founds the Ku Klux Klan, combating Elsie’s congressman dad and his African American protégé, Silas Lynch.
