Ship of Theseus

This very first feature picture from Indian playwright Anand Gandhi, tells three stories relating to men forced to think of the ethical and ethics problems raised by clinical advances: some visually-impaired Egyptian photographer, who later having a cornea transplant has trouble adjusting to her new found awareness of sight; a devout Indian monk fighting animal testing, who must face his beliefs once he could be identified as having liver cirrhosis; along with also an Indian stock broker, who after a kidney transplant discovers concerning the illegal commerce in stolen organs also makes the decision to help a very poor victim of for example thieving – although this indicates flying all of the way from India to Sweden.
The movie was first exhibited at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, where it received great critical acclaim and has been touted as “the hidden stone of annually”. This premiered at India in July 2013, also has been given Best Feature Film of 2013 at the Indian National Film Awards in 2014.
