Satoyama: Japan’s Secret Watergarden

Every dwelling features a built-in water or pool tank which is located partially indoors, partially out its’ walls… A continuous flow of spring water will be piped in to a container, consequently fresh-water is always offered. People today wash baskets out from the tank and then wash their newly harvested veggies. In case they pour the food bits straight back into the water, they also risk off the whole village furnish. But, carp can flake out the fatty or utensils that are burnt. They do the washing machine in Satoyama villages. This conventional arrangement is known as the river side system. It’s used around Japan. Cleaned-up by the carpthe tank water finally re joins the station.
