Christmas Eve at New York, and also the lonely divorced writer, Rose Collins, requires magic to boost the fitness of her mother, interned in a hospital with Alzheimers. She feels sorry for yet another patient and matches his guest. Meanwhile, Nina Vasquez violates her involvement with her cherished fiancé Mike because of his own jealousy that is monolithic, but penalizing him. Mike is stalked by a stranger, bartender Artie Venzuela. Poor people Jules arranges to pay Christmas Eve from a medical facility, where he spent the finest Christmas of his own life if he had been a teen ager. The lifestyles of several of those characters mix with the others across the evening .
