After the Second World War, a northern cannery combine negotiates for purchasing a massive tract of uncultivated Georgia farmland. The significant part of the property is possessed by Julie Ann Warren and has been optioned with her draft dodging husband, Henry. The unite should also get two plots – one possessed by Henry’s cousin Rad McDowell, a combat veteran having a spouse and family; another by Reeve Scott, a young black guy whose mother was Julie’s youth Mammy. But Rad nor even Reeve is considering advertising and they form a unparalleled black and black partnership to enhance their property. Although infuriated by the turn of events, Henry stays determined to push the huge land deal. When Reeve’s mum Rose expires, Henry attempts to convince his wife to bill Reeve with prohibited possession of his home, convinced that bigoted Judge Purcell will rule against a Negro.
