The Hornblower series relies on C.S. Forester’s classic marine experiences – the tale of one young person’s struggle to develop into a leader of men. Set against the trunk of this 18twentieth century Anglo-French wars, the bloodiest period in British naval history. Pellew, Captain of the Indefatigable, decides to set forward his protege Horatio Hornblower for its examination to lieutenant. Leading up to the examination Hornblower comes up from several struggles to prepare him to the challenging life for a lieutenant.
