Hellcats of the Navy
Future “first couple” Ronald Reagan and Nancy Davis made their solely joint movie look in Hellcats of the Navy. Ronnie performs Casey Abbott, commander of a WW2 submarine, whereas Nancy portrays navy nurse Helen Blair, Abbott’s off-and-on girlfriend. Throughout a fragile mission through which his sub is ordered to retrieve a revolutionary new Japanese mine, Abbott is compelled to depart frogman Wes Barton (Harry Lauter) behind to avoid wasting the relaxation of his crew. However Abbott’s second-in-command Don Landon (Eduard Franz) is convincing that Abbott’s sacrifice of Barton was resulting from the undeniable fact that the lifeless man had been amorously pursuing Helen.
