Fill the Void
Eighteen-year-old Shira is the eldest child of the Mendelman family. She’s going to be married to some promising son of the same age and heritage. It’s a fantasy become a reality, also Shira feels excited and prepared. On Purim, her twenty-eight-year-old sister, Esther, dies while giving birth to her child, Mordechay. The pain and despair that overwhelm the family postpone Shira’s guaranteed game. Everything changes each time a game is suggested to Yochay-Esther’s overdue husband-to a widow out of Belgium. Yochay feels it’s too premature, but he understands that eventually he needs to seriously think about marriage . After the girls’ mum discovers that Yochay could wed the widow and also go on to Belgium with her only grandchild, she suggests a suit between Shira and the widower.
