Eisenstein in Guanajuato

In 1931, subsequent to success of this film Battleship Potemkin, Soviet film maker Sergei Eisenstein travels into the town of Guanajuato, Mexico, to shoot a brand new film. Freshly refused by Hollywood, Eisenstein soon falls under Mexico’s spell. Chaperoned by his lead Palomino Cañedo, that the manager opens to his suppressed anxieties as he adopts a fresh world of sensuous delights and chances which could shape the future of his own art.
