Dear Frankie
Nine-year-old Frankie along with his single mum Lizzie have been on the road since Frankie might remember, most recently arriving in a seaside Scottish town. Attempting to protect her deaf son from the facts they have run far from his father, Lizzie has invented a story which he’s out at sea on the HMS Accra. Every couple weeks, Lizzie writes Frankie a makebelieve letter out of his father, telling of his experiences in exotic lands. Since Frankie monitors the boat’s progress across the world, he finds it is due to dock in his hometown. With the real HMS Accra arriving in only a fortnight, Lizzie must choose between telling Frankie the facts or finding a perfect stranger to drama Frankie’s father for only one afternoon…
