On the age of 10, Australian-born Andi Gibson had what she describes as a detailed encounter with a flying saucer. Naturally, everybody assumed she was bonkers. That’s till one notable night, 17 years later, when an airborne extra-terrestrial armada launches a nation-wide assault on Andi’s house nation and on the similar time, for unspecified causes, kidnaps her mom. So as to add to the debacle, it appears the opposite nations of the world are far too insulted by their exclusion from the assault to return to Australia’s assist. Now it’s as much as Andi, her hypochondriac brother Elliot, retired boxer cousin Keith and documentary filmmaker pal Cam to cease the assault and rescue Andi’s mum. Enlisting the assistance of Andi’s equal-parts mysterious and cringeworthy father, the gang should battle car-chasing spaceships, martial-arts aliens, large killer robots and, maybe most frighteningly, a deluge of household secrets and techniques of their struggle to save lots of Australia.
