Absolution
In a Catholic boys’ school, domineering disciplinarian Father’s Goddard rules along his students with a iron hand. If one of his adolescent fees confesses to murder, the dogmatic but profoundly saddened Goddard finds his beliefs challenged and his own life independently out of control. Also starring Billy Connolly (within his initial feature-film character ), Dominic Guard ,Kes celebrity Dai Bradley, along with the inimitable Brian Glover, also composed by the excellent Anthony Shaffer, Absolution is just one of British cinema’s most underrated chillers, not least to get some towering central performance by Burton.
