Clinging to a bare letter compiled by her recently deceased dad, young Momo moves with her mum in bustling Tokyo to the remote Japanese island of Shio. Upon her arrival, she begins to research her new habitat, fulfilling local kiddies and learning their own customs and routines. But, it isn’t long until several eccentric events crop around the formerly calm island. Orchards are located ransacked, precious trinkets start evaporating and, most bizarre of all, every day after her mother leaves for work, Momo finds odd mumblings originating from the attic of the dwelling. Annoyed by those creepy goings on along with her mum’s refusal to believe these, Momo embarks on a bizarre and unnatural experience to detect the origin of the mischief, that contributes her to that a trio of bothersome imps: the flatulent lizard Kawa, the child like Mame and also their hulking ogre pioneer Iwa. Momo also discovers her trip to that the island is in a manner associated to her dad’s cryptic correspondence.
