A League of Their Own
Since America’s inventory of athletic young guys is depleted throughout World War II, an expert all-female baseball league climbs up from the Midwest, financed by publicity-hungry candy manufacturer Walter Harvey (Garry Marshall). Aggressive sisters Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) spar with one another, scout Ernie Capadino (Jon Lovitz) and grumpy has-been trainer Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) in their way into fame. Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell co-star as two of the sisters’ teammates.
