Three decades in their loving union, with just two toddler girls at home in Los Angeles, Nicholas Arden and Ellen Wagstaff Arden are about a plane which goes down over the South Pacific. Even though most passengers manage to outlive the episode, Ellen presumably perishes when caught her off lifeboat, her body by no means regained. Quick forward five decades. Nicky, needing to move on with his lifetime, has Ellen declared lawfully dead.
