125 Years Memory

Two historic events which deepened the friendship between Japan and Turkey are linked within this Japanese-Turkish blockbuster: The sinking of this Turkish frigate Ertuğrul from the Western coast in 1890, along with also the rebel of Japanese nationals out of Iran at 1985. By creating this film about empathy and friendship, the initiators meant to contribute to world peace. Director Mitsutoshi Tanaka’s masterpiece has been nominated for its Japan Academy Film Prize in ten categories, including the Best Film and Best Director, and won the awards for Best Sound Recording and Best Art Direction.
